Community-Engaged Research

Community-engaged research projects combine the subject and methodological expertise of OSU faculty, staff, and students with the local knowledge and history of one or more community groups. Together, OSU and community partners work to achieve community members' goals. Community members are full, equal partners in the research process and participate in all stages—including data analysis and distributing results.

Community-engaged research should always result in a deliverable that will directly benefit each community partner. The results of community-engaged research can also often be presented in academic journals and conferences. A number of professional journals feature community-engaged research from undergraduate and graduate students in any discipline.
