Overcoming Barriers to Behavioral Outcome Adoption

Call for Proposals

The College of Human Sciences is pleased to issue a call to all college faculty for project proposals addressing overcoming barriers/impediments to adoption of preferred behavioral outcomes among Oklahomans.

Proposals should focus on identifying ways to overcome the barriers (financial, institutional, and/or social) that currently prevent Oklahomans from adopting the types of behaviors that existing research suggests are beneficial to them. Selected proposals will receive up to $5,000 in budgetary support.

Proposals should describe:

a) The target behavior and behavioral outcome for this project.
b) How the target behavioral outcome benefits Oklahomans, society and/or the economy.
c) How the project plans to identify key barriers and solutions to the adoption of the behavior.
d) How funds awarded will be used—provide a budget and budget narrative.

Proposals must be submitted before September 30, 2016 via Qualtrics at this link:

When completed, funded projects should also include a 2- to 5-page summary of project findings and recommendations for ways to overcome the identified barriers.

Awards will be announced by October 15, 2016. Expenditures must be completed by June 30, 2017 and final project summaries must be submitted to Dr. Atiles by November 1, 2017.
