At the Cleo L. Craig Foundation Child Development Lab on the Oklahoma State University campus, we work to expand your child's world with challenging and diverse learning experiences in a safe and nurturing environment. Our excellent teachers, facilities, and quality curriculum engage children's minds in activities designed to encourage analytical as well as creative development.

Certified Teachers

The CDL offers degreed and highly qualified teachers in each of its classrooms. Early Childhood Education majors complete field experiences and internships in the classrooms, which means that your child receives individual attention from trained, caring adults.

Because we are in a university setting, the CDL teachers are engaged in a learning community, and maintaining the latest research and emerging practices in Early Childhood Education.

Facilities

State-of-the-art classrooms provide space to support intellectual, social, and physical growth. A daily integrated curriculum includes technology, language arts, math, science, social concepts and skills. Our outdoor playground facilitates imaginative group play and games. A mirrored observation booth looks in on classrooms and welcomes parents to use the booth to take a look at their child and our teachers in action.

The CDL curriculum invites children to be active participants who learn, make decisions, and work together.

Engaging Curriculum

At the CDL, our curriculum adheres to the same Oklahoma Early Learning Guidelines and PASS skills required of public schools. Literacy and Math are taught within the context of an active curriculum. For example, your child will:

  • Solve balance problems while building a tall block structure.
  • Negotiate roles and story lines in a reenactment of a favorite book.
  • Recreate, through art, an experience with pond life after a walk to Theta Pond.
