Welcome to the School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration
Our school is known as a program of distinction for 75 years. Students are prepared for careers in hospitality through meaningful teaching, quality laboratory practices, and supervised industry work experiences and internships. Learning is "hands on" and provides a bridge between the classroom and professional practice in the field.

Quilt of Valor presented to Nahs
Alan Nahs, manager of West Side Café in the School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration and U.S. Navy veteran, received a Quilt of Valor on Friday, September 11, 2015. Sarah Wheatley, who is a member of the Cimarron Quilters and Quilts of Valor, made the presentation to Nahs at West Side Café among his family, co-workers and employees.

The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation, which started in November 2003, is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. All the quilt squares are made by volunteers. It takes approximately 11 months to make, deliver and receive the quilt.
Tim Slavin
Tim SlavinTim Slavin is a Tulsa native who spent many hours cooking with his grandmothers to prepare for his culinary career. His time cooking in Tulsa began with McGill’s restaurant and continued with some of Tulsa’s best eateries including Palace Café, Edward Delk’s and as sous chef at Lucky’s.

Tim graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from the College of Human Sciences at Oklahoma State University. He participated in the 2009, 2011 and 2013 Wine Forum of Oklahoma, Cochon 555 and Chef Events working with many notable chefs. He has participated in several events in Tulsa including Chefs for the Cure, Step up to the Plate for ALS, Philbrook Wine Experience and Souper Sunday for Total Source for Hearing-loss and Access.
Hotel and Restaurant Administration Welcomes Dr. Li Miao
LiThe School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration in the College of Human Sciences at Oklahoma State University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Li Miao to the position of associate professor and graduate coordinator.

Miao’s teaching expertise is in revenue management and lodging operations. Her research focuses on consumer responses to service encounters and consumer responses to revenue management practices. Prior to joining OSU, Miao served on the faculty of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Purdue University from 2008 to 2015. Dr. Miao holds a Ph.D. in hospitality management from The Penn State University.
