Quilt of Valor presented to Nahs
Alan Nahs, manager of West Side Café in the School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration and U.S. Navy veteran, received a Quilt of Valor on Friday, September 11, 2015. Sarah Wheatley, who is a member of the Cimarron Quilters and Quilts of Valor, made the presentation to Nahs at West Side Café among his family, co-workers and employees.

The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation, which started in November 2003, is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. All the quilt squares are made by volunteers. It takes approximately 11 months to make, deliver and receive the quilt.
Rodelio Aglibot
Tim SlavinBorn in the Philippines and raised in Hawaii, Rodelio Aglibot credits his parents as his culinary mentors. Aglibot notes his acceptance into the Chef’s Apprenticeship Program at the Five-Star, Five-Diamond Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia as the single most important experience of his career. His celebrity chefdom began in 2001, when he became the executive chef of the celebrity-studded Koi Restaurant in Los Angeles.
Hotel and Restaurant Administration Welcomes Dr. Li Miao
LiThe School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration in the College of Human Sciences at Oklahoma State University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Li Miao to the position of associate professor and graduate coordinator.

Miao’s teaching expertise is in revenue management and lodging operations. Her research focuses on consumer responses to service encounters and consumer responses to revenue management practices. Prior to joining OSU, Miao served on the faculty of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Purdue University from 2008 to 2015. Dr. Miao holds a Ph.D. in hospitality management from The Penn State University.
Richard “Dick” Autry
AutryThe School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration (HRAD) recently lost one of its most well-known graduates and former adjunct faculty, Richard “Dick” Autry, ‘60. Autry was born and resided most of his life in Enid, Okla., where he died May 1, 2015.

After graduating from Oklahoma State University, Dick’s first position was with Morrison’s Cafeteria in Mobile, Ala., opening multiple Morrison’s across the southeastern United States. He received a master’s degree in industrial management in 1964 from Clemson in South Carolina. Soon after completing his master’s degree, Autry returned to Enid where his popular Richill’s Cafeteria served the community for 22 years.
