| Atherton Employees Named Tops in the State |

The employee of the year award is based on professionalism, team work, performance that goes above and beyond required duties, and unusual contributions to service. The front desk award goes to employees who provide outstanding service to guests, follow departmental objectives, take initiative and perform their duties above and beyond expectations. The awards reflect work performed in 2011. Bowman has been employed at the Atherton for four years and serves as the hotel accountant. In that position, she is responsible for all business transactions for the property. Atherton general manager Steven West said Bowman’s professionalism and dedication contribute to the property’s success. She recently managed the installation of a new property management system training all employees on its new procedures assuring a smooth transition. “Allison's knowledge of the intricate financial systems she works with has enabled her to provide valuable insight to operations, and she has been a valuable part of moving the property forward,” West said. As a guest service attendant, Gray works at the front desk, takes reservations and often acts as a concierge for hotel guests who frequently compliment him on his service. West said Gray understands the big picture of the hotel business. “Because of Chris’s natural guest service ability, he is able to sell the room by helping the guest solve their lodging needs, and often guests check in and specifically seek out Chris upon their arrival to thank him,” West said. Bowman and Gray received framed recognition awards and are nominated for the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s National Stars of the Industry Awards competition. |
Two Atherton Hotel at OSU employees received Stars of the Industry Awards from the Oklahoma Hotel & Lodging Association recently. Allison Bowman was named the Outstanding Lodging Employee of the Year and Christopher Gray received the Outstanding Front Desk Employee of the Year.
