Six CoHS students selected for Women’s Faculty Council Research Awards

Four graduate students and two undergraduate students from the College of Human Sciences were recognized during the 2018 Women’s Faculty Council Research Awards this week.

Students were honored for research work at OSU, on which the individual was the sole or primary author. Students were selected through an application process that includes an overview of the research efforts and faculty recommendation letters.

A total of four College of Human Sciences graduate students, three doctoral students and one master’s student, were selected for the honor. The recipients and their faculty advisors are:

Christine Walters, Ph.D., Nutritional Sciences

Advisor:  Dr. Barbara J. Stoecker

Gabriela Fonseca Pereira, Ph.D., Design, Housing and Merchandising

Advisor: Dr. Mihyun Kang

Chitra Singh, Ph.D. Design, Housing and Merchandising

Advisor: Dr. Cosette Armstrong

Tara Wyatt, Master’s, Human Development and Family Science

Advisor: Dr. Karina Shreffler

 

Graduate Students

In addition, two of the six undergraduate students selected for the honor are from the College of Human Sciences. The recipients and their faculty advisors are:

Karley Washburn, Senior, Nutritional Sciences

Advisor: Dr. Brenda J. Smith

Maggie Jones, Sophomore, Nutritional Sciences

Advisor: Dr. Stephen Clarke
