American Society of Interior Designers - Student Chapter (ASID)
This student chapter is recognized by the American Society of Interior Designers and promotes the profession of interior design, exposes students to the professional community, and explores the variety of careers available in the field. Membership is open to any student majoring in interior design or a related design discipline.
International Facility Management Association - Student Chapter (IFMA)
This is the student chapter of a professional organization which promotes the profession of facilities management, encourages professional development, and introduces students to the philosophy and practice of facility management. Membership is open to any student with an interest in facilities planning and management or large-scale commercial interior design.
Merchandising and Apparel Design Association (MADA)
Students with a major or minor in apparel merchandising, interiors merchandising, or apparel design and production are invited to join. MADA helps members understand the various career areas, promotes fellowship among students and faculty, and represents DHM in the college. Leadership opportunities are offered through officer elections and committee membership.
OSU U.S. Green Building Council (OSU USGBC)
The U.S. Greening Building Council (USGBC) is committed to a sustainable future for our nation through cost-efficient and energy-saving buildings. The USGBC has student chapters for young leaders to come together and participate in green building experiences on their own campuses through service initiatives. The OSU USGBC Chapter is open to all students at OSU, and currently has a diverse membership from various schools and departments, such as Agriculture, Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Engineering. The organization provides valuable services such as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Workshops that help students to take the LEED Green Associate examination.
American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC)
The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists student chapter participates in service projects with textile products, engages with industry professionals via webinars on topics such as world-renowned color experts’ discussion of color principles, lighting effects, developing your color palette, and implementing a digital color program. In addition, members of the student chapter are eligible to participate in competitions with significant award monies.
International Interior Design Association (IIDA)
IIDA, International Interior Design Association, is the Commercial Interior Design Association with a global reach. Membership is dedicated to the practice of Interior Design as a profession that enhances business value and positively impacts the health and well-being of people’s lives every day
