Lighting Design, Facility Design and Management, Sustainable Design
Paulette R. Hebert (Ph.D., Louisiana State University) holds the Donald and Cathey Humphreys Endowed Chair in the School of International Studies and is a Professor in the Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising (Interior Design) in the College of Human Sciences at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Hebert’s research interests include: lighting design, facility management and sustainability. Her research has been published in a variety of journals including: Journal of Facilities Management, Facilities, Journal of Business Research, and International Journal of Consumer Studies. Dr. Hebert’s research has been funded by the Department of Energy (DOE), National Science Foundation (NSF), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other entities. Dr. Hebert has lectured on lighting design and facility management topics for academic, practitioner or lay audiences in several countries. Dr. Hebert has designed a variety of residential and large commercial lighting design projects over the past 30+ years for facilities throughout the U.S. She has designed for youth (schools) and also older adults (Continuing Care Retirement Center). Currently she is working with industry regarding the design of state-of-the art dynamic lighting systems to address shift workers’ needs. Dr. Hebert is the recipient of the American Public and Land-Grant Universities Board on Human Sciences Undergraduate Research Mentor Award, OSU College of Human Sciences Chris Salmon Professorship in Interior Design Medal, OSU College of Human Sciences Outstanding Community Engagement Award, and OSU College of Human Sciences Undergraduate Research Mentor Award.
