I am an associate professor of human development. I typically teach the undergraduate courses lifespan development, adolescent development, and parenting and a graduate course on behavior problems. My research area primarily focuses on developmental psychopathology, particularly the development of antisocial behavior during middle childhood and adolescence. My research also focuses on developmental change in parenting and parent-child relationship quality and factors that are related to such change. Some of my recent studies examined positive peer relationships as protective factors for at-risk children, predictors and outcome of parenting during adolescence and predictors and outcomes of emotion regulation during adolescence in high-risk, low-income families.
