The Keynote Speaker, Alissa Drescher delivered the morning session on “Creative Interventions for the Grieving Families.” Afternoon breakout sessions covered “Life after Graduate School,” “Life Losses,” and “Ethics: How to Get Sued.” Over 100 Students and Professionals throughout the state attended the conference.

The Oklahoma Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (OKAMFT) is a division of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and has approximately 244 members. OKAMFT strives to provide a collaborative voice and presence that promotes the profession of Marriage and Family Therapy in Oklahoma and the wellbeing of those we serve through education, information, and support.

One way that OKAMFT strives to enhance the collaborative voice and profession of Marriage and Family Therapy is by connecting students from across the state. The OKAMFT Student Board is comprised of student representatives from varying MFT programs in Oklahoma and serve as voices for student OKAMFT members across the state. The primary responsibility of the OKAMFT Student Board is to plan the annual SNP Conference held each fall. Second year student, Chelsea Keel and third year student Natalie Richardson serve as the 2015-16 OSU MFT Program representatives on the OKAMFT Student Board. As student board members, Chelsea and Natalie met with other student board members from across the state to prepare, plan, and organize the 2016 SNP Conference.
