Stillwater Bowl-Fest to raise funds for Cleo L. Craig Child Development Lab

Fri, January 12, 2018

For the second straight year, Stillwater Bowl-Fest will raise funds to support the Oklahoma State University Cleo L. Craig Child Development Lab (CDL). The Super Bowl party on Sunday, February 4, will feature the game on big screen projectors, dinner with dessert, an open bar and a silent auction. Festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. at Meditations Catering and Banquet Venue.

The CDL is a teaching and learning laboratory for pre-service teachers in the early childhood education degree program, housed in the OSU College of Human Sciences, as well as other entities on campus.

It’s truly a collaborative learning and teaching environment for meeting the mission of the university – service, education and research,” said CDL director Dianna Ross.

In 2016, state budget cuts hit the CDL, and parents Zach and Sarrah Owens knew they had to act. The Owens’ son is a student at the CDL and has made incredible developmental progress thanks to the therapies, resources and investment of the staff there. With support from additional community members, the couple organized the inaugural Bowl-Fest. In its first year, the event raised more than $10,000. In year two, the aim is see significant growth in the amount of proceeds, all of which go to the CDL.

Tickets for the 2018 Stillwater Bowl-Fest include the viewing of the Super Bowl on multiple big screen projectors, all-you-can-eat dinner, open bar through the end of the third quarter, and mingling with other supporters of the CDL and football fans.

There will also be a silent auction, including items from many local Stillwater vendors.

“It’s a really great cause, and I can’t think of a more fun way to give back to the community,” Sarrah Owens said.

Tickets can be purchased for $125 per person or $10,000 for a table of 10 by visiting To learn more about Stillwater Bowl-Fest visit the website view the event on Facebook:
