Human Nutrition/Premedical Sciences

Human Nutrition/Pre-Medical Sciences provides a strong foundation in health and disease prevention that fulfills the prerequisites for medical or dental school. Physicians with a nutrition background are equipped to help individuals make lifestyle changes that support sustainable, long-term health. Pre-dental students focusing their preparation work on nutrition find that they better understand the role nutrition status plays in dental health. Health professionals with a nutrition background are better able to educate patients about preventative wellness, disease development, and holistic treatment. Healthcare related positions are expected to increase by nearly 18 percent from 2016-2026, adding 2.4 million positions to the job market.
